He moved to the Fredericksburg area in 1985 and worked at Mary Washington Hospital Emergency Department. His experience includes family medicine, pediatrics and is board certified in emergency medicine.
Joseph M. Marietta M.D.
Dr. Marietta graduated from the University of Loma Linda Medical School in Southern California in 1986.
He served in the United States Navy for 12 years. His experience includes pediatrics, family medicine and is board certified in emergency medicine.
He moved to the Fredericksburg area in 1995 and worked at Mary Washington Hospital Emergency Department.
Clifton A. Sheets M.D
Board Certified in Emergency Medicine with experience in Family Medicine as well as Pediatrics.
Has practiced medicine in Fredericksburg for over 17 years.
Author of numerous journal articles and academic textbook chapters on emergency medicine.
Karl H. Lagally D.O
Board Certified in Family Medicine with experience in Family and Pediatrics.
Graduated from Philadelphia College of Osteopathic medicine.

Robert A. Glasgow IV PA-C, MPAS, MPH, DFAAPA
Joined PrimeCare in 2007 after serving nearly 30 years in the US Navy. He has been a practicing Physician Assistant for over 18 years. His specialty is Primary Care, with an interest in infectious diseases. Graduating from George Washington University (magna cum laude) in 1991, he also holds post-graduate degrees in Family Medicine, Public Health, and Microbial Biodefense.
Mr. Glasgow is a member of the Association of Family Practice Physician Assistants, the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants, serves as a Director of the Naval Association of Physician Assistants, and is a Distinguished Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants. In his free time he enjoys hunting, genealogical research, and spending time with his family.
Christie L. Meek, PA-C
Joined PrimeCare in 2006. She has been a practicing Physician Assistant for over 15 years, and has extensive experience in Orthopedics. Initially attending Nyack College in NY and later graduating from Trevecca Nazarene University in 1993, she spent her first three years working in Urgent and Primary Care in Nashville, TN. She later moved to Fredericksburg where she spent 10 years in Orthopedic Surgery prior to joining us.
Mrs. Meek has various interests, including teaching PA students. She enjoys spending as much time as possible with her 4 beautiful children, her awesome husband; and maintains her sanity by spending time with God.
A. Rose Rutherford PA-C MPA
Joined PrimeCare in 2006. She has extensive background in laboratory and clinical sciences, and her specialty is Emergency Medicine. She is a graduate of Howard University (magna cum laude) and received her post-graduate from AT Still University. During her career she has worked in Family Medicine, Urgent Care, and Emergency Medicine.
Ms. Rutherford is a member of the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, the Golden Key Honor Society, as well as the National Society of Allied Health.
Amy MacSparran, PA-C, MPAS
Joined PrimeCare early this year(2009). She completed her undergraduate degree at Transylvania University in Lexington, KY and later received her Master in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Kentucky in 2006. She spent her initial years in Emergency Medicine at Jewish Hospital Shelbyville, KY. She later moved to Fredericksburg where she spent some time working in Pain Management before joining our practice.
Mrs. MacSparran is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and a member of the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants. When she is not working, Amy enjoys reading, sewing and spending time with family.
Lauren Safran, PA-C, MSHS
Joins PrimeCare this year (2009) after graduating from the George Washington University. Lauren received her undergraduate degree at the University of Michigan in Industrial and Operations Engineering. Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, she worked as a patient technician at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Her specialty interests include Adolescent Medicine and Emergency Medicine.
Ms. Safran is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and is a member of the Virginia Academy of Physician Assistants as well as the Alpha Eta National Honor Society for the Allied Health Professionals. In her free time, she enjoys watching movies, reading mysteries, hiking, cheering on the Detroit Red Wings and the Michigan Wolverines, and spending time with friends and family.
Lauren Ewell, PA-C, MSHS
Joins PrimeCare this year (2009) after graduating from the George Washington University. Lauren completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Connecticut, majoring in molecular and cell biology, with a minor in psychology. Prior to becoming a Physician Assistant, she worked as an Emergency Medical Technician in Norwich, CT. Her specialty interests include Emergency Medicine and Family Medicine.
Ms. Ewell is a Fellow of the American Academy of Physician Assistants, and a member of Alpha Eta National Honor Society for the Allied Health Professions, as well as the Golden Key International Honor Society. In her free time she enjoys cycling, traveling, snowboarding, golfing, and spending time with friends and family.
